ABOUT LELAND
From simple beginnings …
Beginning in 1984 Byron Nelson, having a background in fastener distribution, opened Leland Industries inc. in a rented 1,500 sq. ft. facility in Markham, Ontario. Distribution experience and a boyhood on a farm in Saskatchewan prepared him to recognize opportunities unseen by others. With five employees and two cold heading machines, Leland began making unique Agricultural Bolts that would quickly become the industry standard for grain storage construction.
… to North America wide coverage
Today Leland produces domestic fasteners for OEM and Industry. A privately held Canadian company using only domestic Steel and Labor, Leland has grown and expanded to include eight sales branches and warehousing facilities in Canada and the United States, with the recent opening of an office and warehouse in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The company’s headquarters recently underwent a 50,000 sq. ft. expansion, allowing all phases of production and management to be encompassed in one 205,000 sq, ft. facility, located on ten acres in suburban Toronto.
In company with Canadian Threadall Ltd. (CTL), Canada’s largest custom- job manufacturer, Leland offers roll threading, forgings, specials, thread cutting and bent bolts. The 2012 acquisition of CTL increased Leland’s workforce to over 200 employees. Today Leland’s offering includes domestic fasteners from small diameter tapping and wood screws up to A325 Structural Bolt assemblies in diameters to ¾”. Accreditations include A2LA (testing laboratory), and ISO/IEC-17025
… to global distribution!
Leland also services customers in Europe and parts of the Near East. As Byron Nelson says,” We are not the low-cost supplier; we don’t want to be.”
Byron Nelson (President), in company with his two sons Jason and Duane, have long believed that North American producers have a right and a duty to compete in their own markets. The desire to succeed and to provide innovation and value drove Leland to grow into a leading manufacturer within a few short years., explain the Nelsons. Understanding the customers, responding to concerns- all are necessary steps to success. Companies native to North America innovate; others simply attempt to copy.
Coming from a farming background undoubtedly assisted the Nelson’s in understanding the needs of the industry. “Our family’s experience in the grain storage industry did not guarantee success, but it certainly pointed us in the right direction”, exclaims Byron Nelson.
From inception Leland concentrated on domestic manufacture of Bolts Nuts and Screws using only North American Steel and Labour and successfully competing against offshore competitors both at home and internationally.
Our primary focus is concentrated on producing Bolts Nuts and Screws for the agricultural storage and metal building segments of North Americas’ construction industry. Leland has the capability to produce Custom or Special fasteners to meet our clients needs.
Leland’s Mission Statement:

Leland Industries Inc. (founded in 1984), proudly announces the acquisition of “Canadian Threadall Limited.”
“Canadian Threadall Limited”, began operating in 1983 in Waterloo, Ontario. From the start CTL staff rapidly earned a solid reputation for their expertise in manufacturing quality threaded products in most ferrous and non-ferrous metals, engineered to customers’ specifications.
Today, companies across Canada and the United States call CTL for customized threading, bending, concrete forming hardware, anchor bolts, threaded rod, u-bolts, j-bolts, and eye-bolts.
Canadian Threadall Limited, and it’s employees bring a wealth of technical experience to the Leland Group. We, at Leland welcome their enthusiasm and dedication to “quality control”, continuing employee education through in-house training, and commitment to providing their many customers “consistent quality”.
We look forward to offering our many customers newly expanded capabilities in manufacturing and the ability to serve diverse market opportunities. From the beginning, Leland Industries concentrated on domestic manufacture of bolts, nuts, and screws for the agricultural storage and metal building segments of North America’s construction industry. Growth came quickly, two bolt making machines and six employees have evolved into a two hundred strong manufacturing force, operating over 300 pieces of equipment in Leland’s own 155,000 square foot plant, warehouse, and head office facility.
The recent purchase of additional bolt makers has expanded our bolt making capability to a maximum ¾” x 6”. This, when combined with “Canadian Threadall” capabilities, brings Leland Industries the design expertise, engineering capabilities, and manufacturing capacity to produce almost any specialty fastener required.

TESTIMONIALS
Leland’s DT2000 coating introduced a new benchmark for coated fastener durability expectations – even within the most careful and conservative building engineering groups. Cascadia only innovates, manufactures and distributes products that are innovative and pushing the threshold of construction industry best-practices – not simply providing minimum code-compliance. Leland, with their fastener technology, is a great partner for this goal".
